A Mother Reclaims Her Travel Spirit
This is a post from Tasia Grzecka – wife, mother of three, licensing specialist for adoption and foster care, fellow blogger and my older sister. (Yes – you’ve already been graced with my twin sister’s post and now you get another!) She also just so happens to be the one who sparked my interest in travel at a young age. As she traipsed across Thailand, Loas, Nepal, American Samoa and Honduras (places we’ve yet to visit aside from our time in Bangkok!) before starting a family, she opened my eyes to the world outside my own – and for that I am forever grateful.
First Time Traveler Heads To Peru
This is a post from Megan Brown, David’s former womb-mate (twin) and a graphic designer/new travel addict/ fellow wine-lover living in Chicago. She’s the witty mind behind TheCardAisle.com where you can find the funniest most creativist greeting cards ever. She also designed our super cool TBT logo that’s practically the best part of our blog. You can see more of her work on her portfolio website.
City Girl, Meet the World
Though I’ve been out of the country before, I guess I don’t really count driving across the border into Mexico with my girlfriends in a periwinkle-colored minivan as a true international adventure. The trip to South America was my first big, real, super-awesome, international trip. As most people say, it’s interesting to see how you react to new things when you are far from your comfort zone.
FiveBadTourists: Miraflores Dining Adventures
Upon arriving in Lima, we spent the first couple of days in Miraflores – a charming district known for its shops, restaurants, gardens and beaches. It is a beautiful tourist area where we felt no need to worry about the thieves in Lima. Still, a sense of adventure lingered within our new-to-Peru travel spirits and we soon found ourselves in a cab headed back into central Lima. The markets around Miraflores were quaint, but we wanted to experience the Mercado Central of Lima.
FiveBadTourists: A Thief in Lima
The time had finally come for my two sisters and brother-in-law to join TwoBadTourists for a week abroad – making it a week with FiveBadTourists! We’ve been planning this trip for about six months and were so ready to be on our way! For my older sister and her husband, it’d been nearly ten years since they traveled abroad anywhere other than Mexico. And for my twin sister, it was her first time abroad other than a few spring breaks in Mexico as well.
