Milan is Italy’s second largest city and the financial and fashion capital of the country. It’s widely considered to have one of the best gay scenes in the northern region, with a nice collection of Milan gay bars, clubs and fetish venues. Here are a few of our favourite places to hang out when you’re in Milan.

Gay Bars in Milan

Lecco Milano

This popular haunt attracts both tourists and locals and hosts a wide variety of events from exhibitions to shows. Known for its interesting interior decoration – it’s an excellent choice for a low-key evening of drinking and dancing.

While it’s more of a cafe than a bar – this Milanese gem definitely deserves to be on the list. The Beerbanti brand originated in Florence and they have kept their emphasis on quality cocktails at reasonable prices alive. Popular with young locals – especially between the hours of 6-9pm when they serve a range of tapas dishes.

Club 23

This small bar is well-known as a hangout for the hot, young crowd in Milan. They have regular drag shows and stripper and host strip contests for the brave clientele who feel like showing off.

Company Club

Company is the most well-established and frequented gay cruise club in Milan. It attracts a range of guys from twinks to bears and they host theme nights which primarily appeal to the leather crowd. The happy hour on Thursdays is always well attended.

DEPOT Milano

This cruise and fetish bar in Milan is as dark and kinky as it gets. The theme nights range from naked cruising to Bisex – expect the unexpected at this Milanese cruise club.

Bangalov is considered one of the places with a more hardcore vibe. In reality, it’s not so different to the other cruise clubs in Milan. They host leather and naked theme nights – the dress code is reasonably strict even on normal evenings – definitely one of the more interesting Milan gay bars.

Gay Clubs in Milan

Track Milano – this is Milan’s large gay dance club which hosts parties every Saturday night. Various parties like Gate, Block and Cox host international DJ’s along with elaborate dance and light productions.

Club Plastic – this is an iconic gay dance club in Milan which has been opened since the 80’s.

Gay Saunas in Milan

It’s important to point out that you’ll probably need a membership card to enter most cruising bars, saunas and some parties. This is common practice throughout much of Italy so don’t be surprised if you’re asked. Luckily, it’s easy for foreigners to buy the membership as most places will sell it to you at the door for 15€.

Royal Hammam – offers an upscale and relaxed sauna experience with a swimming pool, terrace, Turkish bath, dry sauna, jacuzzi, dark room and bar.
