Our next couchsurfing adventure found us at Lady Gaga concert in Sofia with our gracious host, Nikolay. His apartment was situated in an excellent location so that we could walk to all the sights of the city. Sofia has beautiful churches, especially the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and it's also interesting to see the remaining architectural influence that communism had. Not having known much about the city (or doing any research), it was great to have had a friendly local enlighten us.
