With a superb year-round climate, a beautiful coastline and some of the world's most important historical treasures, Egypt is a destination that ticks plenty of holiday boxes.

One of the best things about holidays to Egypt is the sheer amount of diversity on offer. If you're after a beach break, head to the sparkling resort of Sharm el Sheikh on the Red Sea coast for a classic combo of golden sands, pristine shores and fantastic all-inclusive hotels. Here you can while away your days having fun on the beach, kicking back under a parasol or building sandcastles with the kids. It's a great spot for watersports, including boat trips, jet skiing, windsurfing and more. Plus there are scores of diving centres, so you can head out on a scuba diving excursion to explore the Red Sea's spectacular coral reefs and marine life.

If you fancy upping the luxury stakes a little, why not opt for a Nile Cruise? It's a wonderful way to enjoy a cruise holiday whilst having the opportunity to get up close and personal with Egypt's world-famous historical treasures. Sail along the Nile, the lifeblood of Egypt, and enjoy the sight of Egyptian life as you head to your next port of call. You can join numerous organised tours, either as part of a trip to see famous landmarks such as the pyramids and the Temple of Karnak, or to wander around Egypt's towns and cities, gaining a glimpse into local Egyptian life and perhaps buying the odd souvenir of your visit.
