Last month we were in London and had the opportunity to learn about an awesome new gay travel event in Thailand coming up in April. We met a new friend Aaron at the World Travel Market and learned a bit about this exciting event that's taking place in Phuket. You better bet we're clearing our calendar as it sounds like an awesome opportunity to meet new friends, get some beach time with a bit of partying and enjoy a great stay in a gay-friendly, tropical destination.

The event called TropOut takes place from April 3-9 of 2016. TropOut will draw together like-minded travelers from all over the world in a bid to promote a friendly, unguarded and refined travel experience. Yes we've seen the likes of big gay events like gay prides or party-focused festivals like Circuit in Barcelona or XLSIOR in Mykonos, but this is a bit different.

Up to 1,100 travelers will flock to Bang Tao Beach in Thailand’s balmy southern Phuket, where two awesome properties will play host to the chic travel experience. The week long event will include six nights’ accommodation at either Angsana Laguna Phuket or Cassia Phuket, headline entertainment, transfers and an array of other optional add-ons. The main entertainment hub, Xana Beach Club and both hotels are all connected by short (and free) water-taxis within the Laguna Phuket complex, which will give a unique ‘festival’ feel to TropOut.

Attendees will get access to Xana Beach Club, where the trendy tunes of Café del Mar will fill the air, cocktails will flow freely (our favorite!) and guests can mingle with new friends. Plus, you'll be to access a dedicated TropOut Hub at the exclusive Dream Beach – the ultimate arena for relaxation, personal Zen time and a fun, yet sophisticated party.

Offering a point of difference for gay travellers, TropOut’s aim is to inspire a sophisticated travel experience. Having fun is definitely important, and TropOut will deliver that for sure, but in a more comfortable and sophisticated way than your average gay party.

During TropOut, guests can also experience Thailand’s culture and sights by attending a number of optional excursions such as island tours, cooking classes and spa treatments. And as the afternoon turns to dusk, the atmosphere will electrify as an array of world-class entertainment and the beats of international DJ’s take the party to another level. In fact, the German electronic DJ and producer Robin Schulz will be the headline act for the event. Having topped the charts across Europe and boasting numerous top 10 hits in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand including Prayer in C, Sugar, Headlights, Waves and Sun Goes Down, Grammy nominated Schulz will be headlining TropOut’s opening party at Xana Beach Club.

The event is for anyone – couples, groups of friends and solo travelers looking for a fun and refined gay travel experience in a tropical paradise. The package includes 6 nights accommodation, access to Xana Beach and Dream Beach Clubs, parties and entertainment every night, daily yoga and meditation classes, breakfast, welcome pack and water taxi transport.
