It became one of our favorite destinations with its incredible mix of cultures and beautiful views of the sea from the expansing hills. Still, Turkey has many more cities that are worth a visit including the tourist destination of Marmaris. Marmaris is a popular holiday destination for a reason – with so many things to do, places to see and wonderful warm weather through the year, it’s no surprise people return year after year. Many people find great Turkey deals at BeatTheBrochure. Here are a few of the things not to miss while you’re in Marmaris. To reach these stunning destinations renting a car and driving is the way to go for convenience and comfort throughout the journey.

Beautiful beaches

Take a dip in the warm, crystal clear waters at Cleopatra Beach. Grab a refreshing drink while you soak up the rays. Explore the island to discover the ruins, including an amphitheatre. For a truly relaxing experience, head to Icmeler Beach. Easily accessible from Marmaris, you’ll enjoy beautiful beaches, sun loungers, and food and drinks from the numerous cafes and restaurants close by.

Mountain safari

Explore the mountains of Marmaris in 4X4. Enjoy the spectacular scenery overlooking Marmaris and the sea, enjoy traditional Turkish food and discover the local villages on the mountain top. If you’re feeling energetic, the mountains are a great place for a hike. Hire a car or book on to a local tour for an unforgettable adventure.

Exciting waterparks

Waterparks are great fun for all the family. For exhilarating waterslides and wave machines, make your way to AquaDream Park. For a more relaxed atmosphere and child friendly zones, choose Atlantis Waterpark. Each park has plenty of sun loungers and refreshments available within the grounds.

Tombs, river cruises and mud baths

Daylan is just outside of Marmaris and makes a great day out. Take a boat trip to visit the historic Lycian Tombs embedded in the side of the cliffs. For an alternative and fun beauty treatment – dunk yourself head to toe in mud, let it dry then wash it off at the sulphur baths. Relax during the day at Turtle Beach in Daylan, where the sand is soft, waters are blue and sun is warm. If you’re there at the right time, you may catch loggerhead turtles laying their eggs.

Marmaris Marina and fountains

Stroll through the serene marina, grab a coffee and watch the boats bob in the glistening sea. Spend an evening walking, talking and watching the wonderful fountains which dance in time to the music and lights at night.
